In an effort to help save you, the consumer, money I thought I’d give a basic run through of what you can expect from most green screens. Green Screen’s consists of evaluating what measures you can take to make your home more energy efficient and identify energy loss. Assessments that show you problems that may, when corrected, save your significant amounts of money over time. Who wouldn’t want to discover ways to save money?

I know… ‘How to save money’…how broad of a question is that?

To best understand how to save money, you need an understanding of all the ways you are LOSING money. Improve one of these items and you WILL save money. It’s simple.

Green Screen Energy consultants can be that trusted advisor for you. The assessment consists of (but is not limited to) checking your doors and windows for air loss, evaluating the insulation and sealing throughout, inspecting the heating/cooling units and even determining the accuracy of the thermostat(s) and efficiency of your appliances.

Then there is the conversation that covers what can be done to inexpensively save money on your heating bill. Talking about big weatherizing or heating system projects is one thing, but what tiny things can be done that have a BIG impact? When discussing these specifics, it is always more fruitful when our focus is more wide ranging.

Once you have a firm grasp on how your house gains and loses energy, you’ll have a better idea of how to save energy in your home (and if I haven’t mentioned it enough…how to save money.) You can potentially save anywhere from 5-30% on your energy bill by making efficiency upgrades identified in the assessment. It is FREE and essential to a healthy happy home.
